Solar Sound Bluetooth Speakers – Review
Device Review: Devotec Solar Sound by Timothy Noordewier
Devotec’s Solar Sound Bluetooth stereo speakers provide quality playback for any device equipped with the standard 3.5mm auxiliary audio output (cable included) or wireless Bluetooth technology. This is the latest innovation for solarized speakers, combining a slick look, quality sound, and a long lasting lithium-ion battery. There are two ways to charge the device. The solar panel built into the speakers provides a continuous charge when the device is in sunlight. When sunlight is not available, there is an AC power cable included in the box. The cable features a retractable USB cable so that when lying around your office or home, there are no tangled wires.
The built-in speakers provide quality playback louder than many laptop speakers. While testing this product, I could only find two minor setbacks. The speakers are not meant for songs with heavy bass, as there is no subwoofer to produce the low sound. However, I have a hard time considering this a problem when you stop to think that most subwoofers range from 75 to several thousand watts. No compact portable device is capable of that! The only other setback is that when using Bluetooth, there can be a half second delay when switching songs.
Because many Bluetooth devices are cell phones, Devotec included a built-in microphone that can be used for incoming calls that interrupt the playback. These speakers are primarily for music, but could also be used for speakerphone calls.
The Solar Sound includes several other various features that would be very difficult to explain in this review. I strongly urge you to check it out for yourself, and enjoy the freedom of unlimited use provided by solar technology. This review is brought to you by Timothy Noordewier of The Solar Angels.
